Similkameen Pharmacy, located in southern BC, is currently seeking two permanent positions: a registered pharmacy technician and a pharmacist. Applicants must be in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of BC. While the technician position has a flexible start date, applicants must be available to work full-time between May 1st and October 15th 2020, when the position will be vacant. Before and after this period, both workload and responsibilities will be shared between two licensed technicians, offering great work hours flexibility. The current technician position primarily involves checking prescriptions but does vary from day-to-day as needed. While experience can be an asset, newly licensed technicians are encouraged to apply, and can trust that guidance and support will be provided.

Wages are competitive, and the position offers the option of a health benefit package. The cost of living in the area is considerably less than across the rest of BC, and for those preferring the feel of a bigger city, Penticton is a quick 35 minutes drive away.

Located in the village of Keremeos, the independent community pharmacy operates weekdays from 9am to 5:30pm and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. The pharmacy services many residents of independent and semi-independent living as well as a nearby youth addiction treatment center. It also serves as a back-up pharmacy for our local long-term care facility. The pharmacy team provides immunization services, compression fitting, OAT, blister-packaging and even a walking program. As an added resource, three other pharmacies affiliated with Similkameen pharmacy can provide support in terms of foot care, compression and devices fitting, diabetes, and compounding.

Keremeos is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. Opportunities abound for hikers, cyclists, kayakers and those just desiring a stroll along the river. The climate is semi-arid, offering many stunning days to enjoy the natural scenery. Winter also offers good outdoor recreation: skating rink, skiing and snowboarding at Apex Mountain, ice fishing on Yellow Lake, snowshoeing at the Nordic Centre, and more. The Similkameen is also home to an impressive array of vineyards and award-winning wines are becoming a staple of the region. When the work week is over, a fantastic meal outdoors with a live band in the background is a relaxing way to wind down!

Give Similkameen Pharmacy and Keremeos a try… you’ll never want to leave!
